Inspired Mag: Redesigned

Categories Inspired Release, Web Design

Yeah, you know – it’s been a long time since we released the original design, created by Derek Herman. And because you guys have bigger screens now and got a taste for minimal design we thought it’s time for an upgrade. This is where Joe comes in: he created this sexy new look and our friends from WPSumo helped us to code it on the most powerful WordPress framework out there over the weekend.

The original design

I hope this one will go down in history as The First InspiredMag Design, mostly because all the older versions were done entirely by me and were horrible. This one was designed & coded by Derek Herman of Envato, based on his insanely popular Sharp Orange WordPress theme.

Joe Nyaggah

Joe is a tireless seeker of knowledge, occasional purveyor of wisdom and also, coincidentally, a graphic designer. He released two very popular WP themes on MOJO Themes (Candy Shoppe & The Restaurant) and works on the next one already.

WPSumo is the new premium WordPress framework that took the blogging community by storm offering the most powerful, clean and smart solution for bloggers to customize and manage their blogs. WPSumo is very SEO friendly, has a ton of features and options right out-of-the box (including a mobile theme), a huge selection of shortcodes, an exclusive Blog Audit plugin and and a top notch 24/7 support team.

SO here’s our new design, powered by the WPSumo framework. We still have a few tweaks to make but let me know what you think about it so far, feel free to brag about the old design etc in the comments and thank you very much for stopping by again. Stay tuned for more happy days!

  • Well, it certainly looks better ;)

To be honest, I liked the other version better. This one reminds me of some healthy living network, the text effects in top navigation – “shadow” – make it hard to read and I don’t understand the usage of the thin Quicksand in main nav… But well, I think it’s a question of taste. Maybe it’s the minimal thing I can’t take anymore or I’m just confused, ’cause it’s new. Um, however, the content counts and I love inpiredmag anyway :-) But I would like it more BOLD guys!

Switch to regular version doesn’t work on iPhone/safari :-(

  • Lovely uncluttered design :)

    Hello webmaster.
I just want to say my opinion about this new design.
I prefer old design, because its easy to distinguish elements such as ads, menu and content. In this new design, i see it is like mixed together. It is look like unfinished yet.

Sorry for my poor English. :)

  • Nice design, interesting footer.

    Felicitari ;)

  • Congrats on the new design. I especially like the new footer and breathing room. Looks sweet!

  • Love the new design (although I thought the previous design had aged very well) this is a great improvement. Kudos to the guys at WPSumo the framork they have created simply looks amazing, I will definately be giving it a try on my next project.

  • Will take some time until my eyes get used to this, I do love the footer though!

  • Looks sharp, Catalin & team!

  • thanks a lot for your feedback guys!
and for checking the site – you rock :-]
