There are some people who need constant audio companionship to keep us sane/motivated. Music is the soundtrack to our creativity. It makes work possible, helps define who we are and adds just enough fuel to our day to get us over most major hurdles. Each week, thanks to our friends at Inspired Mag, we aim to bring you a new musical suggestion, complete with a recommendation for it’s “intended use”. We hope to explore the full spectrum of musical tastes, so check back each week!

Artist: Adele
Album: 21
Genre: Pop/Soul
We’re suckers for well executed pop-soul. We’ve covered Cee-Lo and Janelle Monae here, so a trend is definitely starting to develop in the office. We promise this will be the last one for a while, but it’s just too good to ignore. The album is called 21 and the artist, an English bird named ADELE is definitely worth checking out.
Every so often you get a record that already has one huge hit song on it (in this case, Rolling In the Deep) and you can hear the next few potential singles on it. It’s a great record, from a great artist and it makes for really interesting office music. I like to drink a whole bunch of coffee in the morning so I have terrible coffee breath. While the employee’s are trying to work, I sing these songs right in their faces. I put a hand on one hip and I wag a finger in their face with the other hand. I like to exaggerate all the words so the coffee breath really wafts at them.
I’m sure they really appreciate it because they work so quickly when I do that. They usually run into the bathroom and lock me out after a while. I’m assuming it’s because they are overcome with positive emotions and need a good cry in front of the mirror. Very cinematic.
Ok, so I made all of that up about the coffee and stuff. But this is a great record, it sounds great around the office and ADELE is an incredible artist. Go buy it!
Intended Use: Sassiness, sissiness, sassafras, saskatoon, saxophone.

Not typically what I listen to, but I like the preview – I’m gonna check it out. Thanks!
I love her music but I find it hard to concentrate when I hear vocals hitting high notes.

Not my typical genre but I love her! I first heard about her when my friend shared a link on facebook and I’ve been listening to her songs ever since. One of my favorites is ‘rolling in the deep’.
As a musician, I’d say her music is pretty average. Like with many young female singers I wonder how much of the entertainment factor is eye candy for younger and middle-aged men like myself? This seems to be the appeal of the likes of Cheryl Cole, the Spice Girls and Rihanna, to name but a few.
Whilst working I listen to many types of music, depending on what I’m doing, Klezmer, Classic Rock, Gospel, Christian Worship, Classical, Jazz, Easy-Listening. My choice is mood dependent as well, sometimes I need music to stimulate me to action, other times I need calming down
