2016 is just getting started and it is time to boost up your coding and web development, let’s be honest while 2o15 was an amazing year, with the right tools 2016 could be an even better year than any before. In this article I would like to look at some of the must have tools that you need to improve your web design in the new year.

1. Slack

If you need to work with a team in 2016, then you need to encourage everyone to install Slack on their computers, Slack just keeps getting more and more popular. The communication tool allows you to make sure everyone in your team is up to date on the latest news with your projects. In case you need more reason to love this program, just know this…it was used by NASA engineers.

2. Canva

Chances are if you are not yet familiar with this app, then you have either been living under a rock, or you are just getting started in your design career, Canva is only going to be more popular as we get further into 2016. Canna is an online platform that hopes to help the Average Joe create their own amazing designs.

3. Adobe Color CC

I have mentioned this in the past and I will mention this tool once again, one must have tool in 2016 is Adobe Color CC, this app was formerly known as Kuler, and it allows you to create and store color palettes which you can then use across your designs.

4. Vectr

If you are looking for a free graphic editor, then Vectr is an app that you need to consider using in 2016, the app is available as a web app as well as a Mac app. While the app does currently need an internet connection, the creators of the app say it will be updated in the future to run offline.

5. Pixate

If you need to create a prototype in 2016, then you should consider adding Pixate to your arsenal of utensils. Pixate is used to create interactive prototypes for iOS and Android. What makes this program great is the fact that it is very easy to use and allows you to use simple drag and drop to make changes to your designs.

    Cool stuff. Slack has been on my toolbox for a while now and I must say my team couldn’t possibly go back to skype and e-mail. All others are really useful, too! But is Canvas really an app for professionals?
