40 Stunning Online Stores Built Using Shopify

Shopify is an online store builder that has some pretty good street cred among designers. They have a team of well known designers, and with their recent acquisition of Jonathan Snook it seems they’re still moving forward full-blast. The ecommerce platform is known for it’s ease of use and obsession with good design, which has been vetted by the fact that design gurus Jeffrey Zeldman and Tina Roth Eisenberg (swissmiss) both have Shopify stores.

Shopify calls their storefront templates “themes” and offer over 100 to choose from. Some of these themes are better than others, and you can take a look at ten of my favorites that I rounded up a while ago.

Since Shopify offers great design options for people at all skill levels, their platform has an impressive stable of incredibly designed online stores. Here are 40 of their best:

  • Thanks for the feature on our store (Grove Lane) and congratulations to the other stores mentioned in this article!

  • I just started working on my website, and came across this article…so the one website that really popped out to me was threesquarefeet.org…really cool website…but there are some flaws though…when I wanted to purchase the pendant…from the dropbox where you select size or whaterver, you cannot see the options unless you scroll your mouse while in the dropbox…just letting you guys know…some users will not actually look for the price and trying to figure out as to how you select the size of the t-shirt, or pendant… Once you scroll down in the dropbox then the options are highlghted in black…but I think person should be able to see what the size options are as soon as they click on the dropbox…maybe it’s just me…don’t know…anyways websites look awesome all of them, thanks for sharing

  • Terrific work! That is the type of info that are meant to be shared around the net. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this publish higher! Come on over and consult with my web site . Thank you =)

It would have been useful to name the Shopify template that each site used.

  • Some great designs here, refreshing to see minimal designs featured so heavily in a showcase post, usually preference goes to designs that have a little too much going on for my taste. Great collection!

Really cool themes! Some of them are purchased from Themeforest.

You reckon? I’ve noticed lots of them are from the main Shopify theme store

  • Great post, these are some nice websites. I wonder if they did it themselves or hired someone.

Hi James, lots of these are themes from the Shopify Theme Shop, with some small tweaks. They have tons of super sleek themes in there, did you check it out?

      • No I didn’t. Shopify was one of the websites that was on my top list, but cost a bit much for a startup. I also want the freedom of not doing a monthly fee, so I backed out.

  • There are definitely some awesome website designs listed here. We ended up purchasing the Retina Theme and added a few customizations. With a bit of additional help from online html and css editing tutorials, we tried to take our shop a step further and hope it inspires others as well – http://www.hollowlegstore.com/

  • cool themes, i use shopify too for online store
